New EREV vehicle reviewed

EREV was a new term for me, here's the Google definition:

EREV stands for Extended Range Electric Vehicle, which is a type of car that uses an electric motor and a small internal combustion engine to increase its driving range: 

• How it works

  The electric motor is the primary source of propulsion, but the gas engine is used to generate additional energy for the battery. The gas engine is typically much smaller than the engine in an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle.
• Benefits

  EREVs can function like electric cars, and the driver only needs to fill up the gas tank when taking a longer trip. EREVs also have the benefits of normal electric vehicles, such as a longer all-electric range and fast responsiveness.
Emissions
EREVs create less CO2 over their lifetime than an ICE car. The gas generator is used much less than in an ICE vehicle, so it has lower emissions.
Examples
The Extended Range BMW i3 is an example of an EREV.
